The red 2022 Terraprima Negre is completely different from previous vintages, as it's now a blend of 65% Cariñena and 35% Garnacha, giving it a much more Mediterranean profile; it used to be a blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Garnacha and Syrah. It's young, fruit-driven and juicy, with notes of honey, beeswax and pollen that I sometimes find in young reds. It has a medium-bodied palate with fine tannins, marked chalkiness, contained ripeness and 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.2. 10,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2023 after it matured in 225-liter French oak barrels.
