The new white 2022 Areas de Rei is the evolution of the Mercenario Parcela O Balado, a varietal Dona Branca (Doña Blanca) from very old plots in the zone of Monterrei on sandy river soils. It fermented and matured in a 500-liter oak barrel and a 600-liter chestnut barrel for 10 months. It has varietal character, notes of white flowers and fruit, herbs and a nutty undertone, with volume and clout despite the moderate 12.1% alcohol, with good freshness, a pH of 3.3 and 5.9 grams of acidity. It's very tasty, almost salty. 1,200 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2023.
