Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Putting my nose in the glass of the 2018 1040 made me think of Albariño, of some of the wines that mature with lees for a long time before bottling. It's usually a blend of similar parts of Treixadura, Albariño, Godello and Lado fermented in 500-liter oak barrels (until the density reaches 1040, something very technical that names the wine), where it matured for six months. There are notes of freshly cut grass, a peachy character and a pinch of spices but no oak aromas or flavors. It's attractive, with a soft palate and a velvety texture that makes it very pleasant and easy to drink. 2,666 bottles were filled in November 2019.
