The stunning 2021 Pancrudo has a nose of violets, rose petals and translucent red berries with a twist of spice and herbs, aromatic, intoxicating, profound and intense. It has a medium-bodied, elegant palate with vibrant acidity (acid berries), pungent and persistent flavors and fine-boned tannins. It's pure Garnacha from Badarán with power and ripeness, 14.5% alcohol and full development of aromas and flavors. It is nuanced, complex and balanced. It matured in foudre and one-third of the volume in concrete egg. It has to be the finest wine I have ever tasted from Gómez Cruzado. Bravo! 8,981 bottles were filled in May 2023.

Description
Gómez Cruzado Pancrudo is a red wine that has been elaborated by Bodegas Gómez Cruzado in Haro, D.O.Ca. La Rioja. It was created from the Garnacha grape variety from vineyards located at an altitude of 650 metres above sea level, on north-facing slopes in the Alto Najerilla area. There the soils are clay-ferrous, reddish in colour.
This wine is perfect as an accompaniment to poultry, foie, sausages and roasts.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand in 200-kilogram bins and the bunches are selected in the winery. Gómez Cruzado Pancrudo is made in the traditional way with fermentation in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged for 12 months in 65% new French oak barrels and 35% in concrete eggs.
Taste
Gómez Cruzado Pancrudo is a wine full of nuances, with a strange combination of maturity and freshness. In the mouth it is ample and well-defined, quite round, with smooth tannins and good persistence.
A classic wine with a touch of modernity
This red wine stands out from the more classic Riojas, with the touch of modernity that comes from the Garnacha. It uses the best Garnacha grapes from the Rioja area and the country.
This wine is a fluid, elegant and fresh version of a Garnacha grown in a cool climate in La Rioja. It has a lot of inner strength.
Gómez Cruzado Pancrudo is a wine where fruit aromas stand out, over a delicate mineral background. It is also delicate, complex and elegant. It has an incredible balance and a surprising combination of strength and maturity that is difficult to achieve.
