Description
Face Nord wine is a type of red wine made by processing Syrah grapes from vineyards with Gneiss soil. This type of soil is composed of quartz, feldspar and mica, which contributes to the formation of layers of minerals that overlap each other and give the grapes a flavour that has a positive impact on the final product.
Face Nord wine is characterised by long maceration and ageing. It is important to note that only 2,500 bottles of this type of wine have been released.
Winemaking
For the production of Face Nord wine, manual harvesting is fundamental, as this ensures that the grapes reach the pressing process intact and without the intervention of chemicals.
After being taken to the winery, the fruit undergoes a fermentation process in stainless steel tanks, with periodic manual movements. They are transferred to French oak barrels to undergo a 30-day maceration process and then an ageing process for 14 months.
Taste
Face Nord wine has a very peculiar dark cherry colour, with some violet tones on the rim. The aroma resembles that of ripe fruits, although it has hints of spices and oak.
A wine with ripe tannins
Face Nord wine is defined as structured with ripe tannins that balance very well with its mineral elements. It is a perfect wine to pair with red and white meats, cold meats, rice dishes, Iberian ham and sheep's milk cheeses.
