Description
Casta Diva Cosecha Miel is a sweet white wine made exclusively from Moscatel de Alejandría grapes by the Bodegas Gutiérrez de la Vega winery under the Alicante appellation of origin.
The grapes with which this wine is made come from vines that reach an average life of 50 years cultivated on white calcareous marl soils in the town of Jávea.
The name of the wine is attributed to the exquisite and sensual aria from Bellini's opera "Norma", which served as inspiration to Felipe Gutiérrez de la Vega for the wine and the label.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand at their optimum point of ripeness. The grapes are then pressed and top quality wine alcohol is added to slow down the fermentation process. The must is put into 225 litre barrels of different oak and continues to ferment slowly.
Finally, the wine is aged for two years in American, Hungarian, French and Caucasian oak barrels, as well as in acacia oak, after natural clarification in the barrel and subsequent filtration.
Taste
Casta Diva Cosecha Miel has delicate sweet notes and expresses all the sweetness of honey and a touch of citrus freshness. The finish is long, honeyed and very pleasant.
