Description
Señor da Folla Verde is much more than a wine. It is an invitation to discover the essence of Rías Baixas, a breath of Atlantic breeze in every glass. Behind this exquisite white is Bodegas Marqués de Vizhoja, a winery with a family soul and a winemaking tradition that can be breathed in every cluster.
Señor da Folla Verde is born from a perfect combination: 70% Albariño, 15% Loureira and 15% Treixadura. Three varieties that, together, create something special. They are grown at Finca La Moreira, in the heart of Condado do Tea, where the soils of pebbles and granitic sands bring freshness and minerality. But this is not just about terroir. It's about the care with which the vines are tended. In summer, up to 40% of the clusters are removed so that only the best remain. And when the grapes are harvested, the selection is done by hand, as in the old days, ensuring that each grape is at the right point.
Winemaking
The elaboration of Señor da Folla Verde follows the same principle: patience and respect. First, the grapes are cooled to preserve their aroma and freshness. Then, a maceration of almost a day extracts the best of each variety. Fermentation, at low temperature and for 16 days, results in a balanced wine full of nuances.
Taste
From the first sip, Señor da Folla Verde surprises with its elegance. Its straw yellow colour with greenish reflections is just a foretaste of what is to come. On the nose, it seduces with a fruity and gourmand aroma, with notes of ripe fruit and a slight floral touch. On the palate, the story is complete: fresh, vibrant and fleshy, with just the right amount of acidity that invites you to keep drinking. And the finish... long, lingering, with that memory of ripe fruit that stays with you for a while longer.
It's the kind of wine you'll want to share, but also enjoy alone, in those moments when a good wine says it all without the need for words.
