The aromatic and clean 2023 Mauro is a textbook example of the house style—elegant and fresh while keeping the juiciness and fine tannins, the integrated oak and the precise and defined finish. The tannins are round and elegant, giving it a silky mouthfeel. It's a very easy-drinking Mauro that is versatile and can go with a wide range of dishes. It's mostly Tempranillo with 20% Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano, and it has good ripeness and 14.5% alcohol. It matured in barrels and foudres for 16 months. 300,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2023.

Description
Mauro is a red wine made exclusively with Tempranillo grape varieties and a small amount of Syrah by Bodegas Mauro under the VT Castilla-León denomination.
The grapes used come from vines planted in an area of 70 hectares located in the municipalities of Tudela de Duero and Traspinedo, on a light, filtering, easy to work soil with a balanced texture, limestone and clay-limestone, depending on the plot.
Elaboration
The grapes are harvested by hand. After a meticulous selection in the winery, the grapes are transferred by gravity to 12,000-kilo tanks, separating them by varieties, estates and production areas.
After maceration and fermentation, this red wine is aged for 15 months in French and American oak barrels and foudres of different ages.

Mauro is a red wine where the fruity aromas stand out. On the palate it is a full-bodied, flavoursome red wine with a powerful, yet supple tannic structure.
