The 2022 Fontecón Rosé is produced with Albariño, Caíño and Espadeiro. This is the first vintage I tasted, even though they started making it in 2017. It's a wine without appellation, as Rías Baixas dos not allow rosé wines. It's aromatic, clean and tasty, expressive, floral and with a very harmonious and tasty palate. It is closer to a white than a light red, super tasty and saline. 1,200 bottles were produced. This was not produced in 2021, a very challenging year for reds.

Winemaking
The Caiño Tinto and Albariño grapes undergo alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and are aged on the lees for 3 months. The Espadeiro grape must undergoes alcoholic fermentation in French oak barrels. Finally, the two wines are blended together.
