Description
Viña Sastre Crianza is a red wine made exclusively with Tempranillo grapes by the Bodega Hermanos Sastre under the D.O. Ribera del Duero appellation.
The grapes used come from vines located on hillsides overlooking the Duero River with an area of 45 hectares with 20 and 60 years old, located at an altitude of 814 metres above sea level on clay-limestone and alluvial soils.
Elaboration
The grapes are harvested by hand. No herbicides or pesticides are used in the production of Viña Sastre Crianza, it is a traditional method of cultivation. Once the grapes are selected, they are pressed at low pressure, before beginning the maceration process with the skins for about 7 days. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature. The wine is aged for 14 months in new French and American oak barrels.
Flavour
Viña Sastre Crianza is a red wine with fruity aromas and spicy notes. In the mouth, it is smooth and sweet, very fruity, with fine toasted notes and aromatic wood, with a very long and complex finish. It is a wine with sweet tannins and very smooth.
