The 2022 Les Manyes is a pure Garnacha Peluda from vines that were planted 60 years ago, from a high-altitude vineyard at 800 meters above sea level on limestone soils in the Montsant mountain. It fermented with full clusters and indigenous yeasts for seven to eight days. The wine matured in concrete for eight months. It's delicate, pale, ethereal, elegant, floral and perfumed, quite primary with purity of flavors. It has certain lightness, subtle flavors and a dry finish. 3,008 bottles were filled in May 2023.

Description
Terroir al Límit Les Manyes is a jewel that defies colour and style in search of its provenance. When those roots come from Les Manyes, there is no need to wonder why.
This wine originates from the top of a monastery in the village of Scala Dei, 800 metres above sea level on the steep slopes of the Montsant mountains. The west-facing Grand Cru vineyard of Les Manyes is a universe in itself.
The Garnacha Peluda vines that grow there are a rare variant of the Garnacha Tinta, more popular in the region. These vines have a fine fuzz on the underside of their leaves that retains moisture in the intense heat, allowing them to thrive even in this hot and challenging climate. Lower sugar levels also mean lower alcohol levels, giving an unmistakable brightness and elegance to enhance depth and concentration. The distinctive clay and limestone rich soils mark the Garnacha fruit with a minerality, structure and elegance that could only come from one place, one time, one wine.
Winemaking
The grapes are hand harvested, whole cluster fermented and then the wine is aged for 8 months in cement vats.
Taste
Terroir al Límit Les Manyes is the flagship of Terroir al Límit, being one of the elusive wines with 100 Parker points (2016). Each iconic sip weaves a rich, complex web of smoke and stone, fragrant black cherry brilliance and savoury mountain herbs; a delicate bitterness settles like a cool morning mist over the whole, lending structure, shape and elegant expression, both now and in the long, lovely future. The wine also has structure and concentration, but it doesn't show it, or just shows it in a subtle way. Les Manyes has an electric palate with a lively, almost citrus acidity. Every year, the wines seem to get better and better? Where is the limit?
