Los Arrotos del Pendón is a reserve red wine made by the Bodega y Viñedos de Raúl Pérez with the Pietro Picudo grape, a variety native to Castilla y León.
The Prieto Picudo grape variety used to make Los Arrotos del Pendón comes from a 2-hectare plot located 900 metres above sea level in the town of Pajares de Otero, in the province of León.
The vines are very old, about 110 years old, and produce high quality, concentrated and balanced grapes.
The grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum point of ripeness. On arrival at the winery, the grapes are partially separated from the stalks and placed in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts for 60 days of maceration. It is aged for 24 months in used French oak barrels.
Arrotos del Pendón is an opulent wine in the mouth, very well formed, balanced, enveloping and velvety. With a long and persistent finish.
