5 Sherry Wines

The wines of Jerez are one of the jewels of Spain as far as wines are concerned. In this Denomination of Origin, different types of fortified wines are produced, including manzanillas, finos, amontillados, palo cortado, olorosos, creams, Pedro Ximénez and Moscatel. Here we offer you a selection of our top 5 Jerez wines that you cannot miss.

1. UBE Miraflores 2019

UBE Miraflores 2019 by Bodegas Cota 45 is made from 100% Palomino Fino. It is a light and crisp wine, with only 10.% alcohol content. The Sanlúcar winemaker behind this wine, Ramiro Ibáñez, stands out for the fact that he vindicates the fact that wines are made respecting their terroir, dispelling the old myth that Jerez wines were made in a winery. For him, wine is made in the vineyard.

In the case of this wine, it has a very high marine influence and its production process uses the old Jérez method of fermentation and eight months of ageing in sherry casks, where the veil of flor is formed and interacts with the wine for the final two months.

2. Barbadillo Mirabrás 2018

The Barbadillo Mirabrás of Bodegas Barbadillo is a wine that is also made entirely from the Palomino Fino variety. It is a wine with 93 Peñín Points, captivating and easy to drink, with 13.5% alcohol. It undergoes alcoholic fermentation in American oak casks and is then aged for 14 months in old sherry casks.
