5 Wines to drink with good pasta

There is no better companion for pasta than a good wine. Here we offer you our experts’ selection of five ideal wines to pair with pasta.

A great first choice for pairing with pasta is the young red wine Marcel Lapierre Morgon 2019 from the Marcel Lapierre winery in Burgundy. It is a fruity and juicy, exclusive and biodynamic wine with 100% Gamay and 12.5% alcohol.

It undergoes a nine-month ageing process in French oak barrels.

2. Le Picatier Gaménits 2018

The crianza red wine Le Picatier Gaménits 2018 from the French winery of the Loire region, Le Picatier, is another great wine to pair with pasta. It is a natural wine with 12.5% alcohol, made from the Gamay variety, through spontaneous carbonic maceration with whole grape harvest without destemming and spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts.

Subsequently, it is aged in 600-litre demi-muids and bottled unclarified, unfiltered and without added sulphites.

3. Pierre Cotton Régnié 2019

Another of our favourites when it comes to wines for a good pasta dish is the young red wine Pierre Cotton Régnié 2019 from the Pierre Cotton winery. It is a natural wine with 12% alcohol content, also made from 100% Gamay grapes.

In its production, it undergoes a spontaneous semi-carbonic maceration with a whole grape harvest without destemming and an ageing of six months in old oak casks.

4. La Traca 2019

La Traca 2019 is a young red wine made by the Valencian winery Risky Grapes. A fruity, juicy, organic wine made from a blend of Bobal and Tempranillo grapes with 13% alcohol.

It undergoes alcoholic fermentation with stems and malolactic fermentation, and is then aged for four months in wooden vats.
