A great option for a toast on New Year’s Eve is the sparkling wine Can Sumoi Ancestral Montònega 2018 from Can Sumoi winery. Made from a process of spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts, with 100% parellada and 11.0% alcohol content, it is an ideal combination if your menu includes smoked foods or Iberian sausages.

2. Clos Lentiscus Núria Cartoixà Vermell 2018

The ancestral sparkling wine Clos Lentiscus Núria Cartoixà Vermell 2018 is another promising alternative for this special night. It is a natural wine, made from a spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts and the Cartoixà Vermell variety. It has 10.5% alcoholic volume and is a perfect match for rice dishes with fish.

3. Pierre Gimonnet Cuis 1st Cru Brut

The Pierre Gimonnet Cuis 1er Cru Brut champagne, with over 90 Parker points, is another exclusive and captivating option for this year-end. Light, vibrant, with 12.5% alcohol, this sparkling wine made 100% from Chardonnay is aged for a minimum of 24 months in the bottle before disgorgement. A great choice if you have seafood or Iberian sausages in mind.

4. Colet Navazos Extra Brut 2016

The Colet Navazos Extra Brut 2016 cava from Equipo Navazos, made 100% from Xarel-lo, with an alcohol content of 12.5% and aged for a minimum of 26 months in the bottle, is another great candidate to say goodbye to on the last night of this 2020, especially if you plan to accompany it with seafood or sushi.

5. Bartucci Bugey Cerdon Ancestral 2018

The Bartucci Bugey Cerdon Ancestral 2018 from Domaine Bartucci is another of our favourite bottles for the end of the year. It is a natural wine, made from a spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts, with a mixture of Gamay, Poulsard and Chardonnay, with only 7% alcohol.

It is aged for a minimum of three months in the bottle before disgorgement with 40 grams of residual sugar and bottled without added sulphites. Your ideal partner? Pickles.
