Andalusia is one of the key points as far as natural wines are concerned, as some of the pioneering projects in making wines without additives and with minimal intervention in Spain have been developed there. Here we offer you a selection of natural wines from Andalusia that you can’t miss.

1. La Traviesa Blanco 2019

The crianza white wine La Traviesa Blanco 2019 is a light and crisp wine from the La Traviesa winery. It is made from 100% Vigiriega, with 12.5% alcohol, from a spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts and an ageing of 10 months in French oak barrels. It is bottled unfiltered, unclarified and without added sulphites.

2. Purulio 2017

Purulio 2017, by Torcuato Huertas Tomás, is a powerful and structured crianza red wine. With 13% alcohol, it is a wine that combines nine different grapes: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir and Garnacha. It is made from a 22-day maceration on skins, a spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, a one-year ageing in French oak barrels, without fining or added sulphites.

3. Naranjuez Brutal Rosado 2020

Naranjuez Brutal Rosado 2020 is, as its name suggests, a young, fruity and vibrant rosé wine. With 13% alcohol content, this wine of the Naranjuez winery combines Pinot Noir, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Tempranillo.

4. Barranco Oscuro Cardonohay 2019

The aged white wine Barranco Oscuro Cardonohay 2019 of the Barranco Oscuro winery is a light and crisp wine, with 13.5% alcohol, made from 100% Chardonnay and a spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, aged for 10 months in oak barrels, bottled without fining and without added sulphites.

5. Duende 2018

The young red wine Duende 2018 by Ramón Saavedra is a fruity and juicy wine, with 13.9% alcohol, made exclusively from Syrah grapes. With a spontaneous alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts, it is bottled unclarified, unfiltered and without added sulphites.
