Our Top 5 wines of 2021

The end of the year always invites us to make balances, look back and evaluate what we liked the most of the year. Since wines are our thing, here we share with you some of our favourite wines of this year, which earned a place in our Top 5 wines of 2021.

1. Jacques Lassaigne Les Vignes de Montgueux Extra Brut

The 92 Parker Point champagne Jacques Lassaigne Les Vignes de Montgueux Extra Brut is a creamy, ripe, biodynamic and captivating sparkling wine. 100% Chardonnay, it has 12% alcohol and is aged for a minimum of two years in the bottle before disgorgement.

2. Viña de Martín Escolma 2016

Viña de Martín Escolma 2016 is a crianza white wine by Luis A. Rodríguez Vázquez. Made in Ribeiro, Galicia, it gathers some native varieties such as Albariño, Treixadura, Torrontés and Lado. It has 13% alcohol and during its production it undergoes an ageing period of one year in French oak barrels.

3. André Beaufort Polisy Brut Derrière L’Église 2010

The natural champagne André Beaufort Polisy Brut Derrière L’Église 2010 is a sparkling wine elaborated from a 100% Pinot Noir with a 12% alcohol content and a 24 months ageing period.

4. Matassa El Carner Rouge 2020

The young red wine Matassa El Carner Rouge 2020 is a fragrant and light natural wine made from Macabeo and Grenache Gris with 12.5% alcohol and aged for 8 months in ceramic eggs.

 

5. Strohmeier TLZ Karmin No 9 2018

Strohmeier TLZ Karmin No 9 2018 is a delicate and fragrant rosé wine with only 11.5% alcohol. Hailing from Austria, it is made from the Blauer Wildbacher variety.
