Our recommended white wines for this summer

For many, summer is synonymous with the ideal season for drinking white wines, because of the sensation of freshness and lightness that characterizes them. Here we offer you a repertoire selected by our expert sommelier Claudio Comella, with five white wines ideal for enjoying with warm weather.

 

1. La Banda de Argilico 2019

This is a natural white wine without aging, without filtering or clarification, from the Microbio winery in Castile and Leon, ideal to enjoy with blue fish in a dinner with friends. It is one of our special verdejos, authentic and at the same time original. It has 13.5% alcohol content and should be served cold, at an ideal temperature of between 8 and 10 degrees.

 

2. Julien Meyer Alsace Mer & Coquillages 2018

From the Patrick Meyer winery from the Alsace region in France, this white wine without aging will captivate you. Natural, fragrant and aromatic, with 12.5% alcohol, and a blend of Sylvaner and Riesling varieties.

 

3. Battenfeld Spanier Riesling Trocken 2017

Coming from the Rheinhessen region in Germany, this Riesling from the Battenfeld Spanier winery can be an ideal company for a dinner with friends. Organic, with a screw cap and only 12.0% alcohol content. It should be drunk especially cold, at a temperature of between 6 and 8 degrees.

 

4. Gorka Izaguirre G22 2018

This unaged white wine from País Vasco was made from the Hondarribi Zerratia grape variety, with 13.0% alcohol. Ideal for combining with either sushi or a good table of Iberian sausages, it should be drunk at a temperature of between 6 and 8 degrees.

 

5. Tayaimgut Sauvignon Blanc

This white wine, aged at the Tayaimgut del Penedés winery, has an alcoholic volume of 13.5% and is made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. Deep and mineral, it is perfect for pairing with creamy cheeses, white fish, seafood and sushi.
