It was not as elaborate as the rest of the vintage; you could say, it was a little more organic, natural and had not been subjected to any ripening process. It was just the juice of the grape which, without much fuss, turned into an exotic wine to be admired.
The other winemakers were impressed and this is where the Brutal movement originated; its label was also born on the same day that the winemaker decided to name the wine so peculiar, which was made by himself, without much care or measures of inspiration. He just wrote the name Brutal on a piece of paper and the iconic label was born.
What are Brutal Wines?
Now, what are Brutal Wines? It is a rather curious question, and the truth is that they are young wines that have only been manipulated and elaborated by the winemaker, without much influence from the experience of the winegrower.
These wines are characterised by being organic, free of chemicals and treated in the most special way possible, and even their bottle professes the rarity and peculiarity of its contents.
They are characterised by being wines with a high degree of acidity and the nuances of flavours and aromas can be quite varied. Since they can be made with any type of grape, without following any specific rule, it is quite difficult to imagine the taste of a Brutal Wine.

As we mentioned in previous lines, the Brutal Wines label was created the same day the movement started, by winemaker Anthony Tortul, who did not take artistic measures to determine the shape of the lettering and simply poured his creativity into its creation
What has been determined over the years is that the lettering on Brutal Wines labels is usually done in yellow, black or red and their backgrounds tend to be white or black.
