Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Entirely vinified in small Burgundian pièces, the 2014 Premier Cru Extra Brut Chaillots Hautes Vignes 'C.H.V.' is a pure Chardonnay from two different parcels (Chaillots and Hautes Vignes) with vines averaging 37 years old. Pure and fresh on the nose, even mineral and steely, this is a very energetic, pure and salty-mineral Chardonnay from rather sandy soils. The acidity is quite steely, and the wine is enormously pure if not austere. However, it has great tension and will develop very well over the years. It is pure and salty and reveals enormously fresh citrus flavors. It was quite sharp at the time of tasting. Expressive and promising. Disgorged in January 2018 with three to five grams of dosage. Tasted April 2018.
Between 10ºC and 12ºC
Fermented and matured in used French oak barrels. Minimum ageing of 3 years in bottle before disgorgement.
