Description
Gaja Rossj Bass is an outstanding expression of Piemonte, characterised by its intense, smooth and full-bodied style. This wine has matured in barrels, which gives it a deep and full-bodied personality. It is composed entirely of the Chardonnay variety, which is grown in the hills of the Langhe.
Winemaking
After the grapes are harvested, the selected clusters are gently pressed to extract only the free-run juice. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for approximately 4 weeks. The wine is aged in oak barrels for a period of 6-7 months, followed by bottle ageing for a few additional months.
Taste
Rossj Bass is noted for its fresh, sweet flavours of white melon and white nectarine peach, combined with elderflower and jasmine on the nose. On the palate, this wine opens up to citrus fruits and fresh menthol notes, surrounding a core of sharp, precise acidity. It is a vibrant wine, with a firm texture that is noticeable all along the centre of the tongue, culminating in a crisp, lingering finish.
