Description
Alfredo Maestro Consuelo wine is a unique expression of Spanish viticulture, standing out for its distinctive winemaking and flavour. This aged white wine comes from selected vineyards along the Duero River, using exclusively the Albillo Mayor variety, one of the oldest in Spain. The vines, planted between 1891 and 1910, bring exceptional complexity and depth to the wine.
Winemaking
The winemaking of Consuelo begins with a manual harvest in the second week of September. After destemming and crushing the grapes, the wine ferments for 7 days in contact with its own skins in 500-litre French oak barrels, using indigenous yeasts. This natural process, without corrections or additions, preserves the authenticity of the terroir and the vintage. The wine is aged for a year in the same barrels, working with fine lees to enrich the texture and flavour of the wine.
Taste
Alfredo Maestro Consuelo is characterised by a complex and balanced flavour. It has a golden colour with amber hints, and its nose is of medium intensity, highlighting aromas of stone fruit and dried flowers, complemented by mineral notes and a subtle touch of honey. The palate is fresh, with flavours of dried stone fruit, dried apricots and soft citrus notes. The finish is mineral and saline, with light balsamic touches that give it good persistence. This wine is ideal to accompany a variety of dishes, from soups and stews to meats and paellas, thanks to its versatility and richness of flavours.
