Description
Viña Cubillo is a red wine made from classic Rioja varietals such as Tempranillo, Garnacha Tinta, Mazuelo and Graciano. This wine is produced by the Bodega López de Heredia Viña Tondonia in the D.O.Ca. La Rioja.
The grapes with which the wine is made come from an estate called Viña Cubillas, more than 40 years old. The estate, like the rest of the estate's vineyards, was acquired by the great-grandfather of the López de Heredia family.
The vineyards are located at 465 metres above sea level, planted on tertiary-age clay-limestone soils.
Elaboration
The grapes are harvested by hand. Viña Cubillo wine is made using a traditional vinification process. The wine is aged for 3 years, subjected to 2 annual rackings and clarified with egg whites before bottling without filtering.
Taste
Elegant and refined on the palate, with good volume, structure and freshness, finishing with a fruity balance and well-integrated ageing notes.
