Bodegas Marañones
Vinos de Madrid
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
There is a white produced with a blend of 70% Moscatel and 30% Malvar, a white grape from Madrid and La Mancha and more common in the zone of Arganda rather than in Gredos. These grapes come from Navalcarnero, so it's a wine from Madrid, not from Gredos. I tasted the 2017 Tapafugas, which is dry and was bottled after eight months in used French barriques. It shows very much the Moscatel character, floral and a little grapey, with a dry palate, a little like Gewürztraminer. 2,600 bottles were filled in June 2018. This wine is going to be different with each vintage, as the 2018 will be a Clarete blend of Garnacha and Albillo fermented separately!
