The balsamic and powerful 2015 Magran Partida Les Manyetes is pure Garnacha from the zone known as Manyetes in Gratallops. It's produced with fruit from seven-year-old vines on trellises on slate soils. It's ripe and a bit heady, but the palate reveals a lot of oak, having spent 12 months in brand new French barriques. The effect of the oak makes me hesitate, and it just might be that it needs more time... 1,500 bottles were filled in March 2017.

Description
Manyetes is a reserve red wine from Priorat with the single varietal Carignan produced by the prestigious Clos Mogador winery in the region of Catalonia, D.O.Q. Priorat. Priorat.
The grapes of the Cariñena variety are harvested from the 10-hectare Finca Les Manyetes located on the outskirts of the municipality of Gratallops.
This vineyard is located at an altitude of 350 metres above sea level, on the typical Priorat slate soils distributed in terraces.
Winemaking
This wine is made from a manual harvest carried out at the optimum moment of ripeness. Once in the winery, the first fermentation is carried out in 300 litre foudres or open barrels, with indigenous yeasts, with pumping over and punching down in order to obtain an optimum extraction.
After a long maceration, the must is transferred to barrels where malolactic fermentation takes place spontaneously. At the end, the red wine rests for 18 months in 300-litre European oak barrels.
After its bottling, this great Priorat reserve red wine rests for more than 2 years before it is finally released onto the market.
Taste
Manyetes is a very expressive red wine with fruity aromas and mineral and balsamic hints. On the palate, it has a pleasant passage and ripe tannins.

Manyetes is one of the great wines of the D.O.Q. Priorat. Priorat and has been produced by the prestigious Clos Mogador winery.
This wine has successfully reflected the knowledge of one of the most renowned Priorat producers: René Barbier.
