Description
Cascina Tavijn Mostro is a wine that tells the story of the hills and vineyards around Scurzolengo, Asti, where Nadia Verrua 's family has lived since the early 20th century. Since the late 1990s, this young winemaker from Piedmont, driven by her passion and a clear vision of agriculture and winemaking, has steered the family's five hectares into a turnaround. No chemical treatments are used in her vineyards and only indigenous yeasts are used in the winery, with no additives that modify the taste, aroma or colour of the wine. These are wines that reflect their terroir and are made with indigenous grapes.
Winemaking
Mostro is a sparkling wine with an electric pink colour. After fermentation in steel tanks, it is bottled in spring with the addition of must from the same harvest and bottled for sparkling.
Taste
Its foam is vigorous and reveals aromas of countryside, flowers, herbs, fresh spices and red fruits. In the mouth, it is refreshing, deliciously flavoursome and tannic. It also has notes of gunpowder and red fruits that evolve into sweeter pastry nuances.
It is recommended to drink it when you are not thirsty, as its high drinkability makes the bottle run out quickly.
