Features

Description

Terroir Històric Blanc was born from a project launched in 2015 with the intention of transporting us back to the tradition of the past and preserving a sustainable future. The Terroir Històric initiative encourages young farmers to return to family vineyards in the 9 villages of the region (Bellmunt, Gratallops, El Lloar, Escaladei, Poboleda, Porrera, Torroja, Vilella Alta and Vilella Baixa) around Torroja and to make the transition from these family vineyards to organic farming.

Elaboration

Terroir Històric Blanc is a blend of the traditional white varieties of Priorat: Garnatxa Blanca (75%) and Macabeu (25%). The winemaking of this wine is characterised by a truly minimalist approach in the winery: manual harvesting, natural whole bunch fermentation and ageing in stainless steel tanks for six months. No extraction is carried out and no oak is used.

Taste

Terroir Històric Blanc offers a taste experience that combines the simple and honest power of excellent fruit with traditional Mediterranean aromas. Notes of citrus peel and orange blossom stand out, complemented by mountain herbs and aromatic sage. On the palate, the wine is bright and juicy, with a penetrating acidity leading to a long, creamy finish. It is a wine that represents the essence of Priorat, stripped of artifice and at its best.
