Description
Selma de Nin is a crianza white wine without denomination of origin made in El Pla de Manlleu (Penedès) by the winery of Ester Nin and Carles Ortiz.
This wine is a blend of the varieties Roussane, Marsanne, Parellada and Chenin Blanc.
The grapes from which this wine is made were planted less than a decade ago by the winery's oenologists Ester Nin and Carles Ortiz on clay-limestone soils at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand. In the winery, the must is first fermented at a controlled temperature throughout the process. Only indigenous yeasts are used for fermentation, which is carried out in 225-litre non-new oak barrels. Finally, Selma de Nin is aged for eight months in 225-litre barrels. Almost no sulphites are added.
Taste
Selma de Nin has delicate, fruity, floral and herbal aromas with spicy notes on the nose. The palate is slightly creamy and round, full-bodied, pleasantly fresh and medium acidity with a long mineral aftertaste.

The grapes used to make this white wine come from vineyards that are cared for organically and biodynamically. In addition, the use of products that can damage the soil and the plants is avoided.
This way of caring for the vineyards results in a wine that respects the original flavour of the terroir.
In the gastronomic field, this wine combines perfectly with raw seafood, soft cheeses, soft spreadable cheeses, grilled seafood, fish rice dishes and cod.
