Description

Ratapoil One Shot is a wine that embodies the essence of freshness and naturalness, originating from the Jura region of France. This wine is made by Raphael Monnier, under his brand Ratapoil, which is known for its artisanal and terroir-friendly approach. One Shot stands out for being a light wine, made with a meticulous process that ensures its high quality and authentic expression of the vineyard.

Winemaking

The base of this wine is composed mainly of Poulsard grapes, known for their subtle aromatic profiles and their ability to produce wines of great finesse. This varietal forms the heart of the One Shot, being complemented by smaller proportions of other local grapes, resulting in a balanced and vibrant blend. In terms of winemaking, the wine does not undergo filtering or fining, thus maintaining all its natural characteristics and a richly nuanced profile.
In terms of ageing, Ratapoil One Shot benefits from ageing in barrels that respect and enhance the innate qualities of the grapes. This traditional method allows the wine to develop a subtle complexity, without overloading the delicate fruity aromas that characterise it.

Taste

One Shot embodies a vibrant and balanced flavour, with a start reminiscent of sour cherries, wild strawberries and a hint of raspberry, accompanied by earthy and umami notes. High acidity is an outstanding feature, harmonising perfectly with the complex, earthy flavours, culminating in fine tannins that provide an elegant, lingering finish. This flavour profile makes it exceptionally well suited to pairings with meats such as beef tenderloin, where its structure and acidity can complement the richness of the meat.
This wine is an outstanding expression of the winemaking art in Jura, ideal for those seeking authentic and natural winemaking experiences, with a strong fruit character and enviable balance.
