The 2012 Pittacum felt like a wine from a bygone era, with aromas of nuts, roasted sesame seeds, sweet spices, cocoa, toast and smoke and with very ripe fruit in an end-of-the-1990s style. The palate revealed flavors and tannins from the oak and the fruit is receding. Time to drink up. 106,000 bottles.
