Description
Oriol Artigas El Rumbero is a red wine without denomination of origin that comes from the Oriol Artigas Viticultors winery, located in Llinars del Vallès, on the border with Barcelona.
It is the product of the processing of Garnacha Roja and Merlot grapes grown in a vineyard that is more than 15 years old, which is located at an altitude of 100 metres above sea level and has white and pink granite sandy soils that largely determine the flavour of the fruit.
Oriol Artigas El Rumbero is classified as an elegant wine, and in addition to its impressive colour and texture, its smoothness and lightness are characteristics that define it very well.
Winemaking
The Oriol Artigas El Rumbero wine is obtained by hand harvesting. The two types of grapes are taken to the winery, where the Merlot is directly pressed and the Granacho is left untouched.
Both fruits are handled to extract the liquid and left to macerate for at least 5 days without removing the skins.
The fermentation process is carried out in stainless steel tanks with native yeasts and once finished, the wine is aged on its fine lees in the same tank for a period of 10 months. Finally, it is bottled without any rinsing or filtering processes.
Taste
The decisive flavour of this wine comes from the fruit, specifically red fruit with an advanced ripening process. This also justifies the spicy notes on the palate.
