Description
Muga Crianza is an original red wine from La Rioja, produced by Bodegas Muga. It is an authentic blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha tinta, Mazuelo and Graciano.
All of these are typical varieties of La Rioja and come from vines planted on terraces on tertiary calcareous clays.
It is also the ideal and exquisite accompaniment for meat dishes, such as veal, Iberian sausages and all kinds of stews.
Elaboration
Harvesting is manual and selective, the grapes are hand-picked, berry by berry, and come from clay-limestone terraces. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeast in wooden vats.
For its production, Muga Crianza is fermented with indigenous yeast in vats made of 80% French oak and 20% Central European and American oak.
Subsequently, it is aged for 24 months in barrels made in the winery itself.
Finally, before bottling, Muga Crianza is clarified with fresh egg whites. Once bottled, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation for a minimum of 9 months in the cellar.
Taste
Balanced in the mouth , with smooth tannins and good acidity. It shows a very long and fruity finish.
