Description
Mestizaje is a wine that denotes in its taste, the perfect balance between the tradition of Bodega Mustiguillo and modern viticulture in the cultivation of fruit.
It is a wine that is made with 72% of grapes of the Bobal variety and the rest distributed between Garnacha and Shyra. Its peculiar taste comes not only from the techniques used, but also from the chalky soil where the fruit was grown, and the influence of the proximity of the Mediterranean.
Winemaking
To obtain this wine, the grapes are harvested in 15 kg crates, which guarantee the freshness of the fruit and the preservation of the properties that determine the flavour of the drink.
Each grape variety is vinified in separate plots in order to select the bunches one by one and destem them. Then, a light crushing of the fruit is applied to obtain the must.
After this process, it undergoes a fermentation of 13 days and a maceration of 8 days more. It is then aged for 10 months in French oak and bottled without stabilisation treatments.
Taste
The Mestizaje de Mustiguillo wine is a bright, intense red wine, with violet tones. In its aroma you can taste the presence of red and black fruits, with balsamic touches.
The silky mouthfeel is characteristic of this wine, perfectly balanced with its tannins and toasted touches.
