Description
The story behind Gut Oggau Winifred Rosé is as intriguing as its taste. Winifred, Timotheus' daughter from his first marriage, is described as an outgoing, sociable and cheerful young woman. Although she may seem shy at first, those who know her remember her as a refreshingly charming young lady with an inquisitive mind. Like Winifred, this rosé wine leaves a lasting impression on those who have the pleasure of tasting it.
Produced in vineyards with 35-year-old vines, this rosé comes from a soil rich in gravel, which gives it distinctive mineral characteristics. The grape varieties used for its production are Blaufrankish and Zweigelt.
Winemaking
The meticulous winemaking process begins with the manual harvesting of the grapes, followed by destemming. It is important to note that this vineyard is dedicated exclusively to the production of rosé, so the saignée method is not used from a red wine. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts is carried out in used 500, 1,000 and 1,500 litre vats. The wine is then aged in 500-litre barrels for approximately 8 months without batonnage. Finally, it is bottled unfiltered, unclarified and without the addition of sulphur.

Gut Oggau Winifred Rosé is an unforgettable sensory experience. It surprises with aromatic notes of buttery caramel intertwined with hints of stable and sour cherry.
