Description
It is made entirely from the Viura grape variety, resulting in a single-varietal wine with a clean aromatic bouquet and well-integrated flavours. It is a product protected under the Singular Vineyard denomination, one of the most exclusive that can be granted by the Regulating Council of the D. O. Ca. Rioja, which must comply with a rigorous quality control.
This wine is produced in the winery of the Hernáiz brothers, in the municipality of Baños de Rioja. The soils on which the vineyard is planted have a clayey and calcareous composition, with a surface layer of pebbles, which guarantees low humidity retention and better grape development.
Winemaking
The production process involves a manual harvest, with careful selection of the best fruit, maceration on the skins for 6 hours and fermentation in concrete and barrels.
As for the final ageing period, this was carried out in two ways: the first in concrete and the second in oak barrels for approximately 10 months, for a total maturation process of almost two years.
Taste
The nose is complex and clean, with fresh and clean notes. On the palate it has a fatty and persistent flavour. Long finish, with balanced acidity and good body, ideal to serve as an accompaniment to main courses!
