From up to 44-year-old vines in the estate's 7.55-hectare monopole, the 2021 Gaisböhl G.C. opens with a pure, fresh, intense, slightly reductive, lemon-scented nose of ripe fruit aromas and flinty notes. Saline, fresh and tensioned on the palate, this is a full-bodied, rich and and substantial, vital and tensioned Riesling with a dense, saline and savory finish that reveals great aging potential. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in November 2022.

Description
Dr. Bürklin-Wolf Gaisböhl G.C. Monopol is one of the Grand Cru classified white wines from the prestigious wine region of Ruppertsberg. The winery Dr. Bürklin-Wolf is the sole owner of this outstanding plot of 7.6 hectares, of which only 5.2 hectares are classified as Grand Cru. The origin of this location dates back to the early Middle Ages. The name Gaisböhl historically refers to an ancient goat pasture located on a hill. This plot, located at the foot of the Mittelhaardt, benefits from the favourable micro-climatic advantages. The gravel terraces with clay veins in the soil give Gaisböhl an imposing body and fine acidity, while the coloured sandstone ensures its longevity.
Taste
The wine stands out for its fragrant nose, with effusive aromas of lemon and ripe yellow grapefruit. It is concentrated and beautifully balanced, with an outstanding finesse and polish on the generous palate. The finish is long and silky, despite its acidity. Produced from biodynamically grown grapes, this wine is suitable for vegans. In addition, the wine has an alcohol content of 12.5%, an acidity of 8.1 g/l and a residual sweetness of 2.6 g/l.
