Description
Clos du Tue-Boeuf Le Buisson Pouilleux is a white wine made from Sauvignon Blanc by the Clos du Tue Boeuf Touraine winery in France.
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes have been planted on sandy and gravelly soil. Under organic farming techniques and a vinification without artifice.
The oldest Sauvignon Blanc vineyards are almost 70 years old, although they have been replanted along the way. Some other vineyards are young while some are 20 years old.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand at the optimum ripening point of the grapes. Vinification is by direct pressing. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts.
Subsequently, ageing is carried out for 12 months in used Burgundy barrels on lees with regular batonnages. Bottling is done without the addition of sulphur dioxide.
Taste
Clos du Tue-Boeuf Le Buisson Pouilleux has a pleasant minerality with a fruity and floral aroma and fine woody notes. On the palate, the wine is very straight, fine and well balanced. The finish is marked by remarkable length and vivacity.
