Description
Garnatxa is one of the wines produced by the Cims de Porrera winery, located in the D. O. Ca. of Priorat, Catalonia, specifically in Tarragona. As its name suggests, it is a single varietal wine made from Grenache grapes through a careful vinification process.
The vineyard from which these fruits of Vitis vinifera come from is approximately more than a century old and is planted on slate soil at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level, which allows the grapes to develop their properties to the maximum, while at the same time obtaining that characteristic mineral aftertaste, typical of Priorat grapes.
Winemaking
After the grapes were harvested, they were destemmed and then fermented in stainless steel barrels with the addition of indigenous yeasts. The ageing process lasted approximately 6 months in French oak barrels.
The last step of the procedure is bottling, with an additional refinement process of approximately five years. The end result is a well-developed, full-flavoured and complex wine.
Taste
It is characterised by its fruity, concentrated and toasted notes. With a fresh flavour, its long finish lingers on the palate for a long time, as does its silky texture.

Garnatxa de Cims de Porrera is one of the winery's most ambitious bets, combining a careful vinification process with one of the region's characteristic grape varieties. The end result is a wine of the highest quality that will satisfy even the most demanding palates.
Due to its characteristics, it is ideal to accompany roasted meats, strong flavoured cheeses, dark chocolate and game meats such as duck or wild boar.
