Description
Barco del Corneta Las Envidias is an aged white wine made exclusively from 100% Palomino without denomination of origin by the Barco del Corneta winery in the region of Castilla y León.
Las Envidias comes from a centenary vineyard of the Palomino variety, which was semi-abandoned, in the municipality of Alcazarén, 750 metres above sea level.
This vineyard has been worked with organic farming techniques, with great respect for the environment and the diversity of the vineyards.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in 15 kg boxes. In the winery after a maceration of 12-18 hours, the whole grapes are pressed and fermented in 300 oak barrels with local yeasts and in a sherry cask the wine is biologically aged for 12 months.
Before bottling the wine is left to settle for 4 months in stainless steel tanks.
Taste
Barco del Corneta Las Envidias is a mature, very dry white wine. On the nose the aromas of dried fruits stand out with light toasted notes. In the mouth it has a very well integrated acidity, is intense and very long.
A pure and complex wine.
Barco del Corneta Las Envidias is part of the recovery project, which keeps alive some practically forgotten vineyards in Valladolid.
Its name refers to the area of Alcazarén where the vines from which this wine originates are located.
In the gastronomic field it is perfect as an aperitif and ideal to accompany cold meats, mushrooms and smoked meats.
