Description
Ansgar Clüsserath Vom Schiefer Riesling Trocken is a dry white wine in the pure trocken style from the Mosel wine region in Germany. This white wine is characterised by a fine and aromatic, dry taste that reflects the tradition and mastery of German winemaking. It is made from 100% Riesling grapes, a variety that stands out for its adaptability and resistance, especially in northern climates.
Winemaking
The production of this wine begins with a careful selection of grapes that are harvested by hand in small boxes of 20 kg. They are then gently pressed in a pneumatic press and undergo spontaneous fermentation in traditional wooden barrels from the Mosel region, known as Fuderfass. After fermentation, the wine rests on its lees until June, when it is bottled.

Vom Schiefer Riesling Trocken offers us a sensory journey with its intense aroma of white flowers, peach and a touch of mint, all accompanied by an unequalled freshness. On the palate, it is surprisingly full and pleasantly smooth in texture, balanced with a juicy but not aggressive acidity. The aftertaste leaves us with lingering fruit and a touch of ripeness. There is also a characteristic minerality, almost saline, which reflects the essence of the slate soils from which the grapes come. This minerality, together with notes of stone fruit and citrus, make this wine a harmonious and balanced taste experience.
