Description
Alex Foillard Brouilly is an exceptional wine that reflects the expertise and passion of its creator. Hailing from the Beaujolais region of France, this wine is made from Gamay grapes, a variety that gives it unique and distinctive characteristics.
Winemaking
The winemaking process begins with a careful selection of grapes from a 1 hectare plot, north-facing and planted on granite rock with a thin layer of topsoil. The vines, about 50 years old, bring remarkable complexity and depth to the wine. Fermentation takes place in cement tanks for 21 days, with daily pumping over for the first three days, which helps to extract the intense flavours and colours of the grapes.
The wine is aged 50% in cement tanks and 50% in barrels for 6 months. This dual ageing method allows the wine to develop a robust structure while maintaining its freshness and liveliness. In addition, the wine is bottled without fining or filtering, which preserves its authentic and natural character.
Taste
Alex Foillard Brouilly is characterised by a light and fruity taste, with an aromatic palette that includes red fruits and a spicy touch reminiscent of the Vosne region. The palate is rich and velvety in texture, with freshness and balanced acidity. The soft, well-integrated tannins give the wine an elegant structure, making each sip a pleasant and harmonious experience. This wine is ideal with red meats, poultry, and grilled dishes, bringing out the flavours of each ingredient.
