Description
Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage La Guiraude is an authentic expression of the Crozes-Hermitage terroir. This wine is made by Alain Graillot, a renowned producer in the region. It stands out for being a selection of barrels from the best lots of Crozes-Hermitage de Graillot from each vintage. The choice of 'La Guiraude' is made after Alain has tasted each barrel, thus guaranteeing its superior quality.
Winemaking
The must is fermented with indigenous yeasts and stems, which makes for a wine that is powerfully structured, but at the same time elegant. Although not specific to a particular terroir, this special cuvée is only produced during exceptional vintages. It is composed entirely of 100% Syrah and is grown according to organic practices.
Taste
Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage La Guiraude has a ruby colour with purple notes, high robe, light body and medium density. Its nose reveals a range of aromas with fresh red fruits, a greenness reminiscent of a Beaujolais, and floral and balsamic notes that give it an unparalleled freshness. It is, without a doubt, an aromatic and complex bouquet. On tasting, it is surprising for its freshness and good acidity, accompanied by marked, rustic tannins. It has a medium length on the palate, culminating in a liquorish and permanent finish. It is a pleasant and elegant wine that, although it can be enjoyed now, promises to evolve favourably over the years.
