Description
Viña Ardanza Reserva is an emblem of La Rioja Alta, S.A. This magnificent wine is made from Tempranillo, which comes from Finca La Cuesta and Montecillo, in Fuenmayor and Cenicero, and Garnacha from La Pedriza in Tudelilla (Rioja Baja).
These vineyards present optimal conditions for this grape, with a very poor soil covered with boulders that offers grape varieties very rich in aromas and fine structure.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported refrigerated in boxes that maintain their integrity to the winery. There, a rigorous process of optical selection begins, berry by berry. Alcoholic fermentation takes place naturally. Malolactic fermentation is completed at the end of the year. Afterwards, the selected wines are transferred to American oak barrels, where they are aged separately.
The Tempranillo is aged for 36 months and the Garnacha for 30 months in barrels of 2 and 3 wines. Afterwards, the final blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha is bottled.
Taste
Viña Ardanza Reserva stands out for its balance, intensity, smooth freshness and pleasant structure, elegant tannins and fine acidity. Its finish is silky, with good aftertaste.

This magnificent red wine has a long ageing period equivalent to that of the Grandes Reservas. It also has an enormous ageing capacity and comes from one of the best vintages of the century.
Viña Ardanza Reserva is the ideal companion for roast lamb, red meats, barbecues, big game, highly seasoned fish stews, smoked and cured cheeses.
